The difference between expanded PTFE sheet and PTFE sheet:

Expanded PTFE(teflon) sheet is a newly developed airspace aircraft sealing material in the world in recent years.

Expanded PTFE sheet is a kind of porous plate formed by PTFE material through multi direction stretching (expansion treatment), calendering, heat treatment and so on. From the appearance, the surface of the expanded PTFE sheet material is smooth and soft. However, under scanning electron microscope, we can see that Expanded PTFE sheet are large amounts of 2 micron M-25 m pores inside the material, and its porosity can account for more than 60%. The common PTFE sheet is widely used.

Expanded PTFE sheet has the following characteristics: no harm, light weight, corrosion resistance and environmental change. It overcomes the cold fluidity (creep) of pure tetrafluoroethylene material and is suitable for all kinds of load based planar structure seals. The material has uniform sealing, aging resistance, good elasticity and will not harden or embrittlement with time. The temperature range is from -240 C -260 C, so it is a very ideal sealing material for Aeronautics and Astronautics.
